I was abruptly ripped from my normal (shortened) week last night by the news that I would need to go to Midland for the rest of my week.
I have joined a new team and I have to learn new things...
again.
there is a little bit more muscle behind this position, but I have to lower myself to speak with the computer illiterate and those who are just dumb.
I will soon have the power to shut off any user's computer who is on the network.
I will be able to figure out a tactful way to tell someone they are stupid....
and they will thank me for it.
I will also be the person onto whom they, meaning the huddle masses, will project self-directed anger. They will blame me for their ineptness...
I have entered into...
tech support...
... ... ...
this is not really a new thing for me, as I have been living this role for years now.
audio, video, computers, whatever... I am probably the person to get pinged...
... ... ...
I do not mind, though, it is always my pleasure to help people when I can...
but now that I get paid for it, I have to deal with stuff that I would usually ignore.
... ... ...
I do not know how I feel about this yet.
... ... ...
that, and I do not know where I will be sleeping tonight.
and I do not have a car up here.
... ... ...
we now return you to your regularly scheduled program, already in progress...
Tuesday, July 27, 2004
we interrupt this broadcast...
