it's amazing...
posted @ 17:07 by ryan in [ From the sage... ]

is it because you start to forget that He is the one that blesses you?

is it because you start to take for granted that you have is only because He allows it?

what about what you don't have?

is it because He doesn't allow it?

in the "Our Father" we pray, "Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven"

does this mean that His will isn't being done? Yes. I would think that is possible, given that we have free will to make our own decisions. Every time we have chosen not to follow Christ, His will is not being done...

Is it so bad? Having to follow Christ? I mean, think about what you have to give up... think about what you have to do?

"On Earth as it is in Heaven"

Heaven...
heaven oh heaven can't you help me...
I'm down on my knees please help me

do good deeds for their sake alone, and not because good works will get you into heaven...

how hard is it to separate doing what's right and doing what is right only because you are supposed to do what's right...

I can guess that sometimes it's obvious, but sometimes that decision is damn hard... one would think that what is right is obvious and that one would do what is right because it is what is right, but then those that do what is right and expect a reward really haven't done anyone any service... well... except for what they did because they were doing what they thought was right and did it only because they expected something in return...

resigning to do what is right without reward is truly a heroic thing, I think, because deep down you know that you are doing it because it is right and not because you want something from it...

recognition...
reward...
quid pro quo...

.Be careful not to do your .acts of righteousness. before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven." Matthew 6:1

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Matthew 6:25-27

so, now what?

what is there for me but to live...

do the best I can and focus on what is important...

I know what that is...

so what too me so long?

beats me...

...with the blink of an eye, you'll finally see the light.
